Proven Therapies
The following are six proven physical therapies which improve mobility. "Proven", from a standpoint of Steve Doerfler, our President successfully using them.
MS Workouts
Created in 2017, the team understands multiple sclerosis and importance of mobility. They have created several exercises whether you are confined to a wheelchair or can stand, along with stretching routines matched to the workout. The content is comprehensive and geared to support you, via videos, newsletters and emails. A 2025 yearly subscription is about $450.00. For more information about MS Workouts, click on the image.
Ellipse by LegXercise
This elliptical is used sitting down and no matter the leg strength (it is power assisted) it can be used creating greater leg strength and tone, stimulate circulation and reduce swelling, alleviate leg cramps, calm restless legs, and soothe the leg muscles. The best thing about this machine is it can be done while reading or watching television. The base price is approximately $250.00. For more information on Ellipse click on the image.
NeuFit Neubie
The Neubie is an innovative, FDA-cleared device that utilizes direct current (DC) to foster tissue healing and neuromuscular re-education. It uniquely stimulates the nervous system to enhance recovery of tissue, bone, muscle, and nerves, leading to faster healing, increased strength, and improved functionality. Whether it is upper or lower body, the electrically stimulation pads are directed towards muscular areas where this is a neurological pathway. They uniquely understand multiple sclerosis and will support physical therapy clinics or the individual. It is used in conjunction with specific exercises designed for the end user. The investment is significant, approximately $22,000.00 which includes training. My experience has been very positive with Neubie. For more information on Neubie, click on the image.
CIONIC Neural Sleeve
Similar to the NeuFit Neubie technology, CIONIC Neural sleeves are custom fit to one or both legs and delivery stimulation to four areas as you walk: calves, shins, quadriceps and hamstrings. These can be worn up to eight hours a day (approximate length of battery charge) and promote improved leg induced foot drop. They have a physical therapist which determines your respective settings. The software is excellent and is an app on your smartphone. It is a monthly subscription platform and investment depends upon sleeves for one leg or two. My experience has been positive with the CIONIC Sleeves. For more information on CIONIC Neural Sleeve, click on the image.
The ICEPOD
Studies support cold baths for strengthening the immune system and reducing inflammation. It is also a great stress reliever and promotes better sleep. The ICEPOD can be used with water and ice to reduce the temperature, or with the chiller option which hold the temperature down to 40 degrees Fahrenheit, with little energy consumption. ICEPOD only, without chiller, is an economical investment from $100.00 to $300.00. The chiller investment ranges from about $800.00 to $1,200.00. I love the ICEPOD and use mine at 50 degrees for 10 – 12 minutes. For more information on The ICEPOD, click on the image.

Handcycle
I was an avid road cycler and currently living with significant clonus, and compromised balance, can no longer ride a traditional bike or e-bike. The handcycle is perfect and allows me to get on the trails and once again experience the enjoyment of cycling! It is also a great upper body workout. A handcycle is optional with e-assist. E-assistance is recommended, even if the lowest power setting is used, especially ascending hills on a heavy tricycle. The tricycle design provides excellent stability. A quality handcycle is ranges from $5,000.00 to $8,000.00.
